Everybody Weekend Recap: United on Mission

This past weekend marked a milestone in the life of CrossPoint–our very first Everybody Weekend. And what a weekend it was. From Hutchinson to Hays, Salina to Sterling, and every location in between, our one church in many places rallied together with a single heartbeat: to live as Everyday Missionaries by investing in and inviting others.

The beauty of Everybody Weekend was not simply in the numbers of people who filled our buildings, though that was encouraging. It was in the stories that surfaced. A neighbor finally said “yes” to an invite. Students invited their classmates. Co-workers came to church after being prayed over for months and even years. Hundreds of people who have never been to church or haven’t been to church in a long while heard the hope of the gospel as Pastor Andy preached from Philemon.

At its core, this weekend wasn’t about filling seats, it was about fulfilling the Great Commission. We don’t exist for ourselves but for those who are not yet a part of God’s family. Because we want to see God’s glory fill every place, we care deeply about the lostness of the world around us. The call of Everybody Weekend was simple yet powerful: every one of us has someone we can invest in and invite to take a step with Jesus. Every one of us has a role to play. When the church embraces this together, the ripple effects are eternal.

Because of Everybody Weekend, there will be more voices around the throne singing, “Worthy is the Lamb!”

Already, we are hearing of people who found Christ this weekend. Others discovered a community that welcomed them with open arms. Still others realized, maybe for the first time, that they belong at the table. God is using us as ordinary people being changed by Jesus to do extraordinary things.

But our mission doesn’t end here. If Everybody Weekend was a spark, the weeks ahead are an opportunity for that flame to grow. Invite someone to church this weekend! November 15-16th, we will celebrate our church-wide Baptism Weekend. This will be another powerful picture of what happens when we live on mission. Baptism is the outward sign of an inward transformation–people declaring that Jesus has saved them, and they now belong to Him.

So let’s keep growing. Let’s keep investing. Let’s keep inviting. Let’s keep pointing people to Jesus in word and deed. Imagine what God can do through hundreds of us living as Everyday Missionaries in our neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces. May He continue to use us in the mundane, day-to-day stuff of life, to see more people find life in Christ, find community, and find their place at the table.

To God alone be glory!

CrossPoint Hutchinson

This year, your Hutchinson location has witnessed an incredible movement of God’s Spirit. Year to date, we’ve celebrated 112 baptisms, each one representing a life transformed by the gospel. These stories remind us of God’s faithfulness and the power of His saving grace at work in our community.

Our college ministry continues to flourish as well, with over 100 students gathering every Monday night. Each week, these young men and women are being discipled, challenged, and sent out to live faithfully on their campuses. We are seeing firsthand the hunger for truth and the readiness of this generation to be part of God’s mission.

At the same time, God is expanding our vision beyond our current walls. We are preparing to launch new Grow Groups both to the east and west of our location. These groups will serve as gospel outposts, creating opportunities for discipleship, community, and mission. Our prayer is that these steps of faith would lead to future church planting efforts, multiplying the reach of the gospel throughout our region.

As we give thanks for all God is doing, we also invite you to join us in prayer:

  • Pray that God would continue the revival we are seeing on our college campuses.
  • Pray that God would open doors and raise up leaders for new planting opportunities.
  • Pray that we would take seriously the call to live as Everyday Missionaries, reaching those who are lost around us.

To God be the glory for all He has done and all He will do!

Growing in Faithfulness

Trusting the Lord is rarely something that yields immediate results. In fact, that’s part of the very nature of trust, isn’t it? We lean on God to do what He wills, even when His timing doesn’t align with our own. That’s the best way I can describe how our newest CrossPoint location came to be, not through strategy or foresight, but as a response to the Spirit and a surrendered timeline.

It’s with great joy that I introduce to you CrossPoint Iola, the newest member of our church family.

Several years ago, our leadership team connected with the staff of Waypoint Church in St. Charles, Missouri, through some denominational relationships. At the time, Waypoint was preparing to launch their first rural multisite campus, and we had the privilege of walking alongside them in the early stages, offering encouragement along the way. During that season, their Lead Pastor, Bob Ingle, shared that his father had planted a church in Iola, Kansas. As Bob’s father prepared to step away from leadership, that church entered into relationship with Waypoint, becoming Waypoint Iola. For the last six years, that congregation has faithfully served their community and made disciples in eastern Kansas.

Fast forward to late 2024. CrossPoint and Waypoint reconnected at a North American Mission Board event. Bob pulled Andy aside and shared a thought: Waypoint Iola, while fruitful, sat five hours away from the nearest Waypoint campus. The distance, combined with cultural differences and even the separation of a state line, made it challenging for their team to serve the church as well as they longed to. Over the years, leadership transitions only amplified the challenge. The Waypoint pastors wondered whether Iola might flourish more fully if they were connected to a network rooted in rural Kansas, with proximity and experience in exactly that setting. That’s when CrossPoint entered the Iola conversation.

For the past year, both churches have prayed, listened, and sought God’s will for the future of Iola. Together, we’ve come to the conviction that Waypoint Iola is to become CrossPoint Iola. The work of ministry there will continue, but now as part of the CrossPoint family. We believe this transition will strengthen the congregation and extend the reach of the gospel in eastern Kansas.

With Iola, CrossPoint now gathers in 14 locations. And as I reflect, I can’t point to a single location in our story that came to us in quite the same way. That could be unsettling for someone like me, someone who likes to make a plan and see it unfold neatly. But in truth, it’s a testimony to the way God works. He doesn’t need us to build these churches. He doesn’t rely on our cleverness or timelines. Yet, in His grace, He has chosen to use us as instruments to reach the lost and make disciples. That means every step forward is not ours to claim, but His to ordain.

And so, we trust. We trust that the Lord who has already been at work in Iola will continue to move powerfully. We trust that He will raise up leaders, multiply disciples, and bring revival in His timing. Our task is simple: to walk faithfully, depend fully, and celebrate joyfully what He has done.

Please join me in praying that:

  • God would prompt a leader to move to Iola to shepherd the people there.
  • We would see a revival of the eastern part of the state that begins in Iola.
  • We would be an encouragement to the faithful congregation joining the CrossPoint family.
